Yesterday, Flourishes released the first in our new Simply/Sophisticated series with the introduction of Mixed Greetings. As with our previous line of Stamp Simply this series will continue to be a vehicle to make elegant cards easily and quickly!
Leslie Miller, a Flourishes Design Team Charter member, came up with the wonderful concept of this set. My sister, Diane Roche, took over and finished this classic and timeless set that we are very proud to have as part of the Flourishes stamp offerings.
This is the first card I made with the set and oh was it fun and easy. The card was made for my hubby Mike’s older sister (she hates me to say that!). She took quiet a tumble on Sunday at church breaking several bones and is in the hospital. Gloria is a very feminine lady and I think this card will be just what the doctor ordered and hopefully bring a smile to her face.
I stamped on Vanilla cardstock using Hybrid Palette Burn Umber Ink. Then I colored in using my blender pen to soften the colors. The focal image is done using one of the bowls from the set and the flower topper. The sentiment is from Flourishes Many Sentiments and is also stamped in the same ink…..keeping this all very simple. The coloring of the image was again kept to a minimum, using only three colors.–Orchid Opulence, Certainly Celery, and Old Olive and my blender pen. The paper is from Memory Box-
Here is an up close look at the image.
I wanted a soft and feminine look so was very careful to use a light hand with the coloring. The second layer of solid paper is just perfect to show off the pretty pearls in the corner with out over whelming the image. The ribbon treatment was also kept simple.

Ciao,
Gorgeous card! I love how you have torn the paper and have the sentiment stamped on the exposed card base. Beautifully done, Jan.
Beautiful card – so pretty and dainty. I was somewhat on the fence to purchase this stamp set because I own so many floral stamps but you have convinced me I need this set!
This is such a cool set, Jan. I love the mix-and-match aspect of it. You did a marvelous job on your card. The torn paper at a diagonal is very pretty.
Oh so beautiful!
