Today’s card is totally cased from my sweet friend Latisha.  She sent me this darling card that I used for total inspiration today.  Thanks Latish, for the inspiration and the paper used for this card.  Latisha’s card is a small 4 x 4 card.

Forest of Trees is another Marcella Hawley creation for Flourishes.  This is a wonderful set of the trees in our forests.  It has images of a great variety of trees and can be used for many seasons and many techniques.  Our wonderful design team has a great variety of techniques in their examples.

So here is my card:

My card is a regular A2 size with a top fold.   As you can see I did not use one of the trees, but rather the small leaves that are a part of the set.  In Latisha’s inspiration card she had used a neat contemporary image that was a outline image.  To create my card I used a small oval Nestabilities and sponged Blush Blossom ink to create the oval image.  I chose not to outline the image feeling that the three leaves made enough of a statement to carry the card on it’s own.   I used some of the wonderful Graphic45 papers that Latish had sent me and they were busy…in this case less was more.

I used a piece of handmade paper, tore the three edges.  I don’t have that nifty punch to make it look like I tore the page out of a tablet, I had to be creative and ended up using my SU 2 slot punch and made a row of holes then tore the edge away.  A girl gotta to do what a girl gotta do!

The papers used are the retired SU Caribbean Blue with an overlay with the Graphic 45 papers.  I “tied” this together with a beautiful May Arts Morie ivory ribbon from Flourishes.  The images were all stamped in the Hybrid Palette Burnt Umber ink.
