Fall is in the Air

Greetings from the Florida panhandle where we are experiencing a wonderful treat of cooler air.  Now when I say cooler I mean it was 48 degrees last night and the high today will only be 77 degrees.  It won’t last long as the warmer weather will return by the end of the week.  It has been beautiful days with blue skies, a slight breeze, and not even a hint of humidity.  That has made my daily walks bearable.

My card today was made using the Flourishes Sunflower set.  It is a larger card measuring 5 inches by 7 inches.  Sunflowers always remind me of the end of summer for some reason.   I remember my days in Italy and the huge fields of sunflowers.  As the day progressed, it was neat to watch the sunflower heads slowly follow the sun’s position.  The fields were expansive and a feast for the eyes.

The image was stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa ink onto Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock.  I colored using Copics  Sunflower and Evergreen collections.  I then used  Nestabilities Label Seventeen on the image and Old Olive cardstock.  The little lady bug was also colored with Copics and then I used crystal glaze to add some different texture.  The designer paper is Basic Grey cappella. The classic ivory, to which I distressed the edges, was adhered to the Old Olive card base.  Those cute nail heads are in copper and fairly new to the store.  The finishing touch was ribbon from my stash and a Flourishes Finishing Touch floral also in copper.

Thanks for stopping in today.  See you soon.
