1,2,3 Create-Hello Luscious

HI Friends,

Today Flourishes introduces a new kit in our 1.2.3 Create line  This kit is Hello Lusicous.    Hello Luscious is just that–LUSCIOUS and yummy!

This is what come in this Luscious Kit:

Basic Grey Hello Luscious Paper Pack

1 Yard of 1-1/2” Yellow Silk

1 Yard of 1-1/2” Green Silk

2 Yards Hot Pink Cotton 5/8” Ribbon

1 Yard of Hot Pink Crochet Lace

9 Silver Ribbon Slides

70-plus square light and dark pink rhinestones in two sizes

This is a great deal, lots of fun stuff for many, many options for papercrafting.  A great deal of plannng and matching goes into these kits, making some detail work easier for you and your creating time more pleasant.  We’ve done the combining and matching up for you, making it 1,2,3 Create for You!  Check it out by clicking HERE

Here is my card for this kit.

The base of my card is SU Bermuda Blue, and the only things I used other that the kit of goodies was one sheet of Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock and the sentinment from Hello Hyacinth stamped in Mememto black ink.

All of the other papers are from the 6×6 pad of Hello Luscious from Basic Grey.  I used 6 different designer sheets from the pad, cutting them with Spellbinder dies, Deckle Rectangle and Rectangles.  I love those little rhinestones in this kit and I used 2 different sizes.  I used a piece of the Hot Pink Crochet lace to balance the size of the rectangles and incorporate into the card.  That lovely fluffy flower bow is made using the Becca (Amazing Paper Grace) video.  It was fun and easy.  I think I will do this again. It will squish down flat to make for easier shipping.

These kits are limited and when they are gone, they’re gone.  Stop in and see what the other designers have made today.  Even Sharon, Sewflake, has joined today.  She is loving the shopping she is getting to do for these kits.  I can tell you there are more great ones on the way.

Friday Free For All

Hi Blogger Friends,

Today’s post will be short as I have to redo the post as it appears to have been lost in cyberspace.  WordPress is working on the problem, so I will try again now.

It ia a Free For All Friday and as you can surmise that means the designers can post their own creative designs without having a challenge, set, or sketch.  This is fun and you will see lots of different themes as you visit the other DT members.

Here’s my card for today.I used the Flourishes set, From the Desk Of, as my focal point.  The image was stamped onto Flourishes Classic Ivory card stock with Memento Black ink, and cut out with Spellbinder die Label One (S4-101).  I colored the image with very soft colors From various Copic Collections R30, R32 (Dahila), RV34 (peony).  The greens come from Spring Grass (YG11), Meadow (G12)and Fields (G82) as well as Flesh Tones, (E21),(E33) and( E37) and from Buttercup(Y00).  The designer paper is from the new Prima paper pad Bontanical.  I love this collection of papers.  The dp was cut with another Spellbinder die, Label Four (S4-100).  I used a dark shade of rose paper for my dark layers.  The second layer of FLLC Ivory card stock was embossed with Cuttlebug  Kassie’s Brocade,  The base of the card is also FLLC Ivory cardstock.  For emblishments I used Kaiser pearls in Copper–they almost match the paper perfectly and May Arts silk ribbon in Rose and cinched it with a Finishing Touches slide in copper.  Oh I almost forgot, I slightly distressed the paper with Ranger Antique Linen.

I hope that you will visit the rest of the team as I know they will please and inspire as always.

Hello Blog Friends!

This is day three of a great release for Flourishes.  We are releasing two cordinating sets , Birthday Pennants and Strips and Stripes that (hold on) coordinate with two new Spellbinder Dies, Nested Pennants and Nested Lacey Pennants.  These sets and die lend themselves to a wide aray of styles and themes for your card making and scrapbooking.  I have take two completely different looks for my cards today.

First is a elegant use of the Birthday Pennants set and the Lacey Pennants dies.

The card base is Flourishes Classic White cardstock, to which I adhered a piece of Basic Grey designer paper, it was the inspiration for my card.  Then I stamped the the Damask image from the Birthday Pennants onto Flourishes Classic Ivory cardstock with Angel Pink Memento Pink ink.  I stamped eight of them and the cut them with the Spellbinder Lacey dies.  From the Ivory paper I also cut a srtip of lace using the Spellbinders Grand Lace Bordeablities.  I layered the pennants over and under and adhere them to the grand lace strip.  Then I punched a hole in each one and wove a tone on tone ribbon with a slight twist each time.  I emblished with Kaiser perals in pink and small flowers I took from the new Prima Aire Collection 2.  The card is my new favorite sixe 5.5 x 7″ so I need an extra strip of designer paper at the top.  I finished it off with a multiple layered peg bow and a Prima Flowers Aire Collection 2.

For my second card I changed stides, letting my paper do most of the work for me.  I have a grand neice that will be one on Sunday and I wanted something sweet, soft, feminine and whimisical!  Here’s my take on that.

The paper is new Prima Jack and Jill collection.  It is suited for both boys or girls.  The base of the card is Sage Shadow, the the layer of designer paper to which I attached a lace doilie ribbon from Basic Grey that I wove a tiny pink silk ribbon and made a fluffy a fluffy peg multi layered bow.  The pennant was cut from Sage Shadow and the sentinment from the Birthday Pennants set is stamped in Memento Rick Cocoa.  I added some Prima Flowers Aire Collection 2 to the bow.  The string loop ribbon was used to edge the strip of lace doilie on each edge as well as on the pennant.  I did have to make some lemonade out of lemons when I stuck a piece of Score Pal tape to the front of the cardstock and trying to take it off tore the paper.  So I grabbed the second one and charged on.  I cut the little girl out of the damaged page and poped her on with tiny dimensionals.  My sister, the grandmother, say the card and said she thought she would keep it herself….NO she won’t, it’s for Maggie.

Now take a hop around the designer team and see their wonderful collections. Because we just knew this set was a match made in heaven with the Spellbinder’s Pennant Dies, we asked some of their ever-so-talented designers to join the Flourishes team for a little show and tell! Make sure to hop on over and see….

Sneak Peaks Day 2 Spring Has Sprung

Top of the Morning to you my friends!

Today is day two of Flourishes sneaks of fabulous new sets for the month of March.  Today’s set is Spring Has Sprung, penned by the gifted Marcella Hawley.  I think Marcella is riding high with her newest creations.  I love that this set automatically make you smile and then drool to create.

I have made two cards for this release.  Here is my first one:

This little bridie certain has a song to sing!  The card base is Flourishes as is the square, cut with a Spellbinder die  the image is stamped on with Memento black inks.  The image was colored with Copic markers from the Flourishes Sweet Pea collection and Spring Green collection and shadowed with B0000 from the pastels.  The bird is colored in a new collection, Copper, that will soon be on the store with other new ones as well.  The Rose Regal cardstock is paired with a brand new paper from Prima, Sparkling Spring.  Watch for a new kit to be released with these papers next week.  The ribbon is from my stash.  Spellbinder Square Scallop dies were use in the RR card stock to back the image.  Psst….the paper used in this card will be part of a new kit to be released next week, so you are getting a sneak peak at this as well.

My second card is just as sweet:

This card features again The Flourishes White cardstock base, layered with Certainly Celery cardstock and then a sheet of Designer Paper from an old Basic Grey pad called Two Scoops.  The image was stamped onto the FLLC cardstock and colored with a large number of Copics.  I am sorry I did not keep good notes on the ones used.  The image was then cut with the Spellbinder Oval Beaded dies and a Kaiser pearl added to each as an accent.  The ribbon is again from the ribbon stash and was perfect for this card.

I hope you will hop on over to the design to see the Sprin Has Sprung they have created.

    Hi blog friends!

If you are like us and are desperate for a dose of spring, you really need not look any further than the first offering of our March Sneak Peeks!  This set features a beautiful flower that in parts of the world is just starting to peek open their faces to usher in spring!

    Introducing….

This gorgeous flower comes in all shades of the rainbow – from brilliant white to vibrant purple — making it a coloring dream!  These blooms penned by Marcella Hawley not only feature a cluster of blossoms but also fresh cut stems in a vase. There is a handful of beautifully scripted sentiments that are perfect for a variety of occassions!  Would you like to win this set?  Leave a comment on the Flourishes blog post and we’ll announce the winner Saturday at noon central standard time in our Winner’s Circle Post!

I can’t think of a prettier set to start this month and a spring outlook than Marcella Hawley’s newest botanical, Lenten Rose.

I just love these flowers and they come in such a wonderful array of colors.  I was delighted to have them in my garden when I lived in Germany and then in Washington D.C.  Unfortunately they do not do well here in Florida.   But I now have them in all their wonderful glory through this set.

Today I have used the beautiful pale apple green and shades of pink for my flowers.  The light apple green is repeated with a beautiful shade of grey blue in the Prima Annalee designer paper.  I stamped the image onto Flourishes Classic White and colored with Copics using the Spring Greens and Sweet Pea and Dahlia Collections.  I then cut out the image and popped it up using dimensional tape.  I used my Spica Glitter pen to highlight the vase and water droplets. Pleated green ribbon from May Arts is bound to the card with the Spellbinder Fancy Tags.   Here is a closeup of the image

Tomorrow’s set also pays tribute to the kick off of Spring!  If it is still snowing or chilly where you live, this set is bound to warm your heart and give you a dose of Spring Fever!  See you back here tomorrow!

The Cut Above The Rest Challenge

    Hi Ladies,

Thank you all for the wonderful cards and wishes for my birthday.  My husband surprised me with a trip to Atlanta for the Southern Living Flower Show.  It was a great get away.  I think this has been my best birthday in years!  Now it is time to move into this great new year and how better than   the Flourishes Design Team Cut Above the rest Challenge.

Die cut, punches, or decorative borders are all the rage in card making, so let’s see how you can create a card that’s a cut above the rest!   This is the card I have  today for the Flourishes DT challenge.  I have really enjoyed putting this card together.

My Cuts were all made with Spellbinders dies.  I used the brand new Grand Calibur, which I love, and the dies are the new Grand Ovals. For the bottom edge I used Grand Classic Lace Border.  I was uncertain at first about the Classic Lace Border, but I have used it so much and I am glad I added it to my collection.

I stamped the Flourishes Paperwhites set directly onto Basic Grey Capella Paper and also used the Grand Lace Border on Basic grey Capella Paper.  I colored the image with Copics from the Flourishes Sweet Pea collection and Evergreen Collection.  The ribbon is May Arts Silk Champange.  I again made a bow using my new peg bow maker that Mike made for me from the instructions provided by Becca from The Amazing Paper Grace.  Becca was kind enough to share and this is another gem in my tool section.  I embellished with Kaiser Pearl Blush and a Webster Pages Sparklers button on the bow.

Check out the design team to see what they have created that’s a cut above:

    Stacy Morgan

Now it’s your turn!  To join in this challenge  creating a card that’s a cut above the rest.  To enter simply use a die cut, a decorative punch or border punch as a focal point on your card.  Keyword: FLLC11–the deadline is March 18 at 5p.m. Eastern time.

And have you heard?  The Gambler’s Sale at Flourishes is now up to 35 % off!  I see that things are already starting to sell out – so grab your deals fast!
Now head on over to the fabulous Design Team to see their Cut Above Challenge cards, then please join us in the challenge and Link to the Flourishes Blog!

    Hello friends,

Here at  Flourishes home base in Pensacola, FL we are experiencing something welcome…..SPRING.  Now please don’t throw the snow just yet as our offical last frost date is usually mid March still a week away,   I am watching the weather for cold nights as some of my plants don’t do well in the cold.  I have daffodils blooming as well as cherry trees and soon  japanese magnolias.  Gotta love this early spring.

My card today makes use of something old, our stamp set  Many Sentiments and it is on sale as it is being retired.  My card is  5 1/2″ x 7″  and required a large sentiment stamp and this set was perfect.  This stamp set will retire, but it will still be one of my go to stamps when required.  The stamp set is included in our Gambler Sale which can be found HERE.  There aren’t many left, so I suggest if you want it you had better act now.  Another something older that I used were ZVA pearls, I am not sure why I have not tried them before but boy  they make a POW affect.  This is something I will certainly do again.  I actually cut one set of pearls into several small pieces and have lots more to use later.  The image was stamped onto Flourishes Classic White cardstock with Black Memento Ink.  I stamped and colored two images and used my exacto knife to trim and then cut the shape using the new Labels Four Grand Nesties from Spellbinders.  I then sponged the edges of the card before I removed it from the die.

For my dimension, I added a second layer to several of the flowers and butterfly.  I also used Flower soft in Lemon Yellow for even more dimension.

For my something new I used the fairly new Butterflies & Blossoms (SS138) as well as newly arrived papers and ribbons purchased at CHA.  Both of  the papers I used are from the brand new Prima Sweet Fairy collection.  Both new ribbons are from May Arts Lavender Plaid and Sheer White Ruffled Edge.  I colored the images using my Copics in the Violet collection and Greenn Grass collection and accented with YG93 (Evergreen), Y08 (Buttercup) and Y35 (Sunflower) using the techniques I learned at the Intermidate Copic Class at CHA.  It was a great class full of the correct coloring techniques using direction of light and shading.

Another something new was using my peg board bow.  Mike, dh and “the shipping guy” made one for me after I had seen Becca’s Amazing Paper Grace post on how she had made hers.  Another great thing  I have added to my tools.

Please visit the Flourishes Design Team members to see what dimension they have added to their cards today.

I hope you have enjoyed looking in over my shoulder today.  Don’t forget the Flourishes Gamblers Sale, further reductions are taken on each Thursday.
