1,2,3 Create Kit- Gabrielle

Hello Friends,

I wish you all  Easter Blessings on  this day.  I have spent the last three days of the holy tridium with my family and church.  This such a special week.  It has been a solem and yet joyful time.  I hope that you will share in the joy!

Today I am featuring a card I made using the newest 1,2,3 Create kit-Gabrielle.  This kit is filled with lovely papers and emblishments that I want to take center focus.  Almost every item on the card came from the kit.  Papers, ribbon, rhinestone and pearls.  Since the focus was on the kit items I wanted to keep the stamping to a minimum. I used a sentinment from Flourishes Sweet Violets set.  The only other items used to create the card were Spellbinder dies-Grand Lace and Fancy Tags Three.

For the side detail I cut vellum from the Grand lace die and used both the positive and negative cuts, placing them along side each other, then I layered a strip of the Prima dot paper from the kit and enhanced with the pearls and rhinestones from the kit.  I also used a long strip of Kaiser pearls down the length of the card.

The Fancy Tag Three was also cut from vellum stamped with black Memento ink, then on to emblishments of more pearls and rhinestones.  The card size is 5 1/2″x 7″.

There are just a few of these lovely kits left in the store so if it tickles your fancy go HERE

Here are a list of designers that are also focusing the kit today, hop on over to their sites for more inspiration.

Day Three – April Showers

Hi Friends,

Today is the last day of sneak and you will get to see all the sets revealed today.  But first, here is today’s release  –  April Showers

I did a quick and fun card for today’s release.

This a bright and cheerful card, just what is needed after the rain showers.  My sun is ready to shine and to make it burst out I used half of a flower behind the sun that has been colored with copics and dazzled with glitter pens.  The card is a 6 x 6 and I used two sheets of designer paper from the Pinkpaislee “Sweetness” pad.  A strip of white cardstock punched with a MS punch gives the feeling the clouds are breaking away.  Yellow plaid ribbon from the Flourishes May Arts collection makes the card look like it may smile, if you don’t first!

Here are the three new Flourishes releases for April:

Sneak Peaks Day 2-Motherly Love

Hi Friends,l

Welcome to day two of Flourishes sneak peaks for April.  The month of May is just around the corner and  so is the celebration of Mother’s Day. Flourishes is proud to release a new sentiment set just perfect for the occasion, Motherly Love. This lovely sentiments set, Motherly Love, has been penned by Marcella Hawley and is great paired with any of Flourishes florals or alone, as I’m using it today.

I  used one of the sentiments from this new set as my focal point.  The new set, the Prima Botanical pad, and the Webester Pages cameo embelishment were my inspiration.  The card is multi layered papers cut with Spellbinders dies.

This is what I used for this card:

Paper:  Flourishes Classic Ivory, SU Old Olive, Webster Pages (Botanical), and Pinkparislee (Sweetness)

Inks:  Memento Bamboo Leaves, Sky Blue, and London Fog (to tone down the blue ink)

Spellbinder dies:  Deckled Ovals, Classic ovals, Petite Scalloped Ovals, Labels Twenty, and Fleur De Lis Accents

Embelishments:  Webster Pages Silhouettes and May Arts crinkle ribbon

Other:  Scor Tape and Foam tape

The card base is 5 1/2″ x  7″.

    Sneak Peaks Day 1- Orchids!

    Hello Friends,

We all know the signature of Flourishes is timeless images that will be true today, tomorrow, and in the future.  We also know that we love our florals and that no one does them better that Marcella Hawley!  She has the perfect preception for her florals and provides them in such a format that all of us can look great when coloring her designs.  Marcella  has taken a royal flower that speaks to special times and memories in so many lives.  She has done Orchids!  Several stunning images in this beautiful set will certainly provide those  AH! moments.  So without further adieu let me introduce….

Today my card with this new set has taken on an Oriental flair

This card base is 6″x6″ black cardstock.  The next layer is a piece of tissue like paper that I mounted on Flourishes Ivory cardstock to give it some body.  This paper was a gift from a friend and she had found in an oriental market.  I have had it for some time and wanted to do something special  with it.  The orchid was stamped on Flourishes White cardstock–it is great to use with Copics– it was then colored with Copics from the Tea Rose and Fields Flourishes Copic collections.  I highlighted with a touch of G19 (Holly collection) to darken up the stem.  I cut the image out with my exacto knife and mounted it with foam tape to pop it up.  I added three squares of rhinestones from the Flourishes sale page to the left corner and then accented the sentiment with a smaller version as well.

Would you like to win this set? Simply leave us a comment on the Flourishes blog and we’ll announce the winner Saturday at noon central standard time in our Winner’s Circle Post!

    Spring Challenge

Flourishes new monthly challenge is focused on Spring, or as the French say, Printemps. this spring is what we have all longed for after a brutal winter. Brighten your days and shake off the gray of winter with this bright and cheerful challenge.Let us see some signs of spring in your creations for this challenge! Use a color combo of robin’s egg blue, some green grass with a dash of daffodil and you will be in the running to win the April new release bundle, FLLCAPR11. Deadline is April 15th at 5 PM Eastern.

Here is my card for the challenge.

As you can see I am playing with the brand new Spellbinder dies that have arrived in the store. I think the new line of dies are wonderful and you are like me it takes a bit to step out of my comfort zone with some new things. For this card I went to the guru of Spellbinders creativity, Becca “Amazing Paper Grace” and CASed a format that she had used. She has a wonderful way of putting the pieces together and I think I will take my tiime and develop my style with these new dies. The cut so beautifully and with the Grand Calibur cutting is a breeze.

OK so on to my card. The base card is a 6″x6″ in a Soft Yellow. The designer papers are both from the Prima pad of Jack & Jill. They were perfect for this card. The sentinment and chicks are from Flourishes, Signs of Spring, SS#47. I stamped the sentiment in Memento Summer Sky and the Chicks in Memento black and colorred them with Copics yellows.

The Spellbinder dies are the Fleur de lis rectangle, label eighteen and Fleru de lis motifs. I used Flourishes Classic white cardstock ans well as SU Sky Blue cardstock. A few tiny pearls and a soft green bow of an Anna Griffin ribbon top off this card.

The Flourishes design team have taken on this challenge so hop on over to their blogs so see their spring challenge cards.

OH what do you think of my new page and banner. The blog is under revision that was much needed. The page was designed by Viola Mahr. Linda Duke turned me on to her and her shop on ETSY . She was a delight to work with for a custom creation of page and banner. The work is not yet complete but I think it is love, n’est pas!

Thanks for visiting today. I love it when you visit the l’Atelier and love you comments.
