Final Day of FLLC Release for October

Hi Friends,

This post will give you that last peek at this month’s release.  It is just as much fun as the three others have been.  Marcella penned this beautiful image catching the love that we all have for candles as a part of our celebration. This set has three lovely images and as many sentiments. It will send the receiver a warm glow where ever it lands.

Here is my card.

The image and card base were both made using Flourishes Classic white paper. The card is 6″x6″.  The image was colored using these Copics:

Here is a close up of the candle.

Lots and lots of my Sakura Gelly Roll clear glitter pen and My white Essential pen for adding in berries to the rings around the candle and on the candle itself.  The Cool Neutrals were used to give depth to the candle.  A hint of Yellow, lite blue, and red markers makes the flame look real.  The Water collection was used around the edges of the Hurricane globe again to give it depth.  I cut a Fleur de Lis rectangle in Sage Shadow and used two different sheets from the Memory Box, Yuletide group.  The top layer of paper had little star bursts that I accented again with my Gelly Roll glitter pen.  The card is finished with May Arts White silk ribbon.

Check out what the rest of the design team created with today’s set:

October Release Sneak Day 3

Today is day 3 of our October Release.  Lauren Pope takes center stage with these darling silhouettes of children enjoying the joys of the Christmas season.  Each of these images is charming.  Lauren has a special knack for creating silhouettes like Kids Play, Sweet Days of Summer, Hats Off to You, and Wedded Bliss.  She is able to capture the feelings and emotions of each scenario, something that is often lacking in silhouettes images.

Here is the card I created with the image.

It is a simple and very straight forward card  and simple enough to produce en mass..  For me, I am out of my element using browns and a homespun feeling.  The card base is Dark Chocolate, Kaiser Craft, December 25.  The image was stamped using Riding Hood Red.  Trims are a combination of 2 rows of lace from our Boutique Cuts ribbons and a chocolate brown velvet.  I love the look of fleece or dots on the pajamas and you can feel the glee they are experiencing.

Tomorrow we will have a noon time challenge, I hope you have a card to enter for a chance to win the entire October release bundle.  Check the Flourishes blog for all the details.

We also have a So leave a message on each of the designers’ blogs to get all the clues so you have yet another chance to win some of the October sets.  The Winner’s Circle on Saturday will announce all of the winners.  I hope you are one of them!

October Release Sneak 2

Today’s release,  Meet Me Under the Mistletoe,  grabbed my heart the minute Marcella sent us her concepts.  The final image is just beautiful.  I knew immediately what I wanted to do with this set.  Mistletoe is just so romantic and I wanted my first card with this set to be one that could be for the most wonderful person in your life, newlywed or 20 years down the road.  So I did just that.  This card is elegant, romantic, and soft.  I think I will send it to a dear friend that recently wed her knight in shining armor.

Here’s the card.

It is white on white embossing with the mistletoe in pastel colors.  I just love texture on texture and especially when it is all white, well almost all white.  The two embossing folders are Cuttlebug, Kaisse’s Brocade and the smaller one is Sizzix, Frame Hearts & Vine.  I deeply embossed them both by running them thru the Grand Calibur a few times.  The mistletoe image was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black, of course on Flourishes Classic white paper, cut with Spellbinder Labels 18 which I also embossed.  While still in the die, I gently shaded the image area with Memento Angel Pink.  I then colored with these Copics……just a light touch.  Working on Flourishes Classic White I can control the saturation and maintain the lovely pastels without using only pastel markers.  No, I did not use every color from these collections, but a lot of them!

Then I added just a light touch of Sakura, Gelly Roll glitter pen.  Each of the berries was colored again very  lightly using the Cool Neutrals and a Ranger White Essential pen so they would pop.  The inside has just a simple stamped image of the mistletoe and the sentiment Merry Kissmas!

Check the  Flourishes Blog  for the details to have a chance to win sets from this release.  More there is a

Sneak Peeks start Today

It is Tuesday and day 1 of Flourishes October Release Week.  I don’t often get invited to play along with the teams and was gleeful when they asked me to join in the fun.   Several of the Design Team girls are also joining in for the fun, so check them all out as well.  I’ll give you a list a little later.

I am excited to introducel our Christmas stamp sets for 2011.  It is so much fun to be able to share what we’ve been working on in the wings.  I do really like the great new images that Marcella Hawley and Lauren Pope have created for us.  So without further ado, here is the First Sneak Peek

Marcella Hawley designed this new set,  Holiday Sparkle.  It is a sister set to another Marcella set,  All That Glitters.  These delightful images are all created with the vintage holiday feeling that is special to so many of us.

Here is the card I created using this set.

I used the Christmas Bell image and stamped the center bell,  masked it, and then stamped to the left and the right of the center bell.  I colored it from these Flourishes Copic Collections : Daffodil, Poppy, Water, Spring Greens.  Designer paper is Memory Box,Yuletide, May Arts Red Multi Stripe ribbon and tiny rhinestones from Bo Bunny, Timeless collection, Spica pens, Sakura Gelly Roll clear stardust pens.   The challenge is to create an ornament or use one on your card or creation. FTTC139…You could win all four the this months release sets!  Check the Flourishes Blog for details.

Now off to see the other ladies creation.
