Hello Blog Friends,

Last month Flourishes released a new Tailor Made die called Book Plate and stamp set Botanical Book Plate Vol 1.  Today we have the pleasure of releasing a second set for the Tailor Made die.  This set, Botanical Book Plate Vol 2, is just as sweet and beautiful as the first set in this series.  Marcella Hawley penned this set using delicate pansies and lilies of the valley.  The set has four images and and six sentiments.  Here is a peek at this stunning set.

Yesterday I told you that I was working on a special baby book.  Many of you thought that it was the cover of the book.  It not the cover, just page one, I simply left off the mommy’s personal information to be added later.  So you will have to wait to see more of the book later.

Today I am using the beautiful set Botanical Book Plate 2 in an unusual manner.  Here’s the page.

I have used 2 small glassine envelopes  to hold a lock of the baby’s hair and her identification bracelet.

Look closely and you will see that they have a pale tint of pink.  I achieved this look by cutting a small piece of light pink card stock for both envelopes, thinking that this will serve to as place to attach the lock of hair and bracelet.  I typed the information via my word program on to Flourishes White card stock, then cut them out using Spell binder die, Grommet tags S5-058, and stamped the Flourishes companion set for the tags, Country Charm Labels SS153, using Memento Angel Pink.  On the remaining white cardstock I stamped the lilly of the valley stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

I used three of Flourishes Copic Collections, listed below,  to color the images.

I cut them using the Tailor Made die Book Plate and attached them to the top portion of  the envelope.  I used chocolate brown cardstock, then made a tight cut along the outside edge of the die around the labels and the picture in the center.

To give the page more depth yet keep it soft I embossed it with Couture Creation embossing folder “Tied Together”.  I just love this brand of embossing folders.  They come in a 5″  by 7″ size and have such great depth.  The center piece of paper is from Graphic 45 Little Darlings. I used sprig of Prima Flowers, Aire Collection.  I can tell you I will get to use it all this spring as two of my nieces are having baby boys in the next few months.  Tiny butterflies ( a favorite of the mom) were added.  I punched them using the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch then embellished them with Kaiser pearls.  I used Spellbinder Ironwork Accents strips on the top and bottom of the page.

I hope you like this page as much as I do, it was really fun to make something for a baby.

Now I want you to visit the following blogs and see what our designers have created for today as well.

Flourishes April Release Day 1

Hello Blog Friends,

Welcome to our April Release week! One thing you’ll notice, right off the bat, is that this release will have a very feminine feel! It’s that time of year when we start to think about honoring the moms in our lives and watching parts of the world turn to spring! So, without further ado, let’s sneak peek our first set!

This beautiful set is another of Lauren Pope’s wonderful silhouettes.  This time she has taken the expected cameo look and made it look the unexpected, quite beautifully, I might add.  She has a special talent to create silhouettes and make them so today, yet timeless.  I just love this set.  It has a wonderful antique lace doily to surround it.  The set contains six wonderful sentiments.  I am going to blow the lunch time surprise and tell you that this set has and 4 “by 6″Antique Lace background….it is just beautiful.

Today, I step out of my card making comfort zone and started making a baby book.  Here at homebase, one of our ladies is having a baby girl on Thursday at noon.  Rachel is having a C Section so, some of the surprise has been taken out of the birth, which I have to been invited to be there for this wonderful occasion.  I’m excited.  Rachael hasn’t seen the book yet, and she is not coming tomorrow so I think I am safe in sharing page one of the book.

The book is a 9″ by 9″ accordion style.  I am working much larger than normal for me, but I have to say I really enjoyed the pages.  The background is the new Antique Lace background, stamped four times and then cut to size.  Spellbinder scalloped circles in two sized were used, one onto a designer paper I have had for ever.  For the smaller scalloped circled, I also embossed it with one the the new Couture Creation embossing plates, that I inked with Memento Angel Pink ink before embossing. I like the effect.  Of course to gussied it up by using Spellbinder Ironwork accents, using the strip and cutting each little scroll apart and attaching it to the scalloped circle.  Then a petite scalloped circle in pink trimmed in Kaiser Pearls, and the Lace doily from the new Love & Lace set, stamped in Angle pink and the Cameo stamped in Memento Black.  Lots of layers of ribbons and lace as well as hand made flowers from the stripe ribbon I used on the side, and a few Prima flowers to finish it off.  Here is a closeup of the center of the page.

Viola! and Whew! it was done!

Now I want you to hop to the designers taking part in today’s hop:
