Hello Blog Friends,
Last month Flourishes released a new Tailor Made die called Book Plate and stamp set Botanical Book Plate Vol 1. Today we have the pleasure of releasing a second set for the Tailor Made die. This set, Botanical Book Plate Vol 2, is just as sweet and beautiful as the first set in this series. Marcella Hawley penned this set using delicate pansies and lilies of the valley. The set has four images and and six sentiments. Here is a peek at this stunning set.
Yesterday I told you that I was working on a special baby book. Many of you thought that it was the cover of the book. It not the cover, just page one, I simply left off the mommy’s personal information to be added later. So you will have to wait to see more of the book later.
Today I am using the beautiful set Botanical Book Plate 2 in an unusual manner. Here’s the page.
I have used 2 small glassine envelopes to hold a lock of the baby’s hair and her identification bracelet.
Look closely and you will see that they have a pale tint of pink. I achieved this look by cutting a small piece of light pink card stock for both envelopes, thinking that this will serve to as place to attach the lock of hair and bracelet. I typed the information via my word program on to Flourishes White card stock, then cut them out using Spell binder die, Grommet tags S5-058, and stamped the Flourishes companion set for the tags, Country Charm Labels SS153, using Memento Angel Pink. On the remaining white cardstock I stamped the lilly of the valley stamp in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.
I used three of Flourishes Copic Collections, listed below, to color the images.
I cut them using the Tailor Made die Book Plate and attached them to the top portion of the envelope. I used chocolate brown cardstock, then made a tight cut along the outside edge of the die around the labels and the picture in the center.
To give the page more depth yet keep it soft I embossed it with Couture Creation embossing folder “Tied Together”. I just love this brand of embossing folders. They come in a 5″ by 7″ size and have such great depth. The center piece of paper is from Graphic 45 Little Darlings. I used sprig of Prima Flowers, Aire Collection. I can tell you I will get to use it all this spring as two of my nieces are having baby boys in the next few months. Tiny butterflies ( a favorite of the mom) were added. I punched them using the Martha Stewart Butterfly punch then embellished them with Kaiser pearls. I used Spellbinder Ironwork Accents strips on the top and bottom of the page.
I hope you like this page as much as I do, it was really fun to make something for a baby.
