Hello Blog Friends,
Today is the last day of the sneak peeks at Flourishes April Release, and the timing of this release could not have been more perfect for me. We are releasing the most darling set called Hey Baby! penned by Marcella Hawley. If you have been following my blog you know that I have been making a baby book for one of our home base Flourishes employees. I had to work under cover on this project as I wanted it to be a surprise. So here is a view of Hey Baby!, SS193, our darling set for today.
Doesn’t this just want to make a baby card? I absolutely adore this set. The next page in the baby book was made using this set. Here is todays page but certainly not the last page for the book. Later on I will share the covers front and back as well as other pages, so stay with me until I have had my fill of this baby making fun. Our darling Madeline was born this afternoon at 1:37PM, and weighed in at 7 lbs, 9.2 oz. She is 20 inches long and has lots of solid black long curls. She is just precious.
I called this page Welcome Baby Dear. The background for this page is a sheet of Graphic 45 from my stash. I then printed Flourishes Classic White Cardstock using my Laser printer which is perfectly compatible with Copics Alcohol markers. I stamped the onesie image from the stamp set with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I colored with Mementos Angel Pink ink and one marker from the Flourishes Lenten Rose Copic Collection to darken some of the areas of the onesie.
I used Spellbinders Label 18 (S4-310) to cut the white smaller labels, then did a “tight cut” on the outside edge of the label on the light pink. For the top labels I used two sizes of the the same set. Down the horizontal center of the page the frugal part of me came out. I used the strip from the Ironwork Accents (Spellbinders). I lightened the edges with more Memento Angel Pink ink on a Ranger ink foam. Then I added May Arts Pink Stain Pleated ribbon, MA 37958-09, and then a string of Kaiser pearls in white PL 501. For the outside edge of the page I used a strip of the pink cardstock and added a strip white enterudeux (so often used in fine baby clothes), then another string of the Kaiser pearls. and a strip of white French White Venise Laurel Lace (3825). Three small pink roses from my stash and three larger Kaiser pearls were the finishing touch.
